4. Third-Party AI and Data Sharing

Elena uses artificial intelligence to provide personalized health and wellness guidance. To do this, we send some of your data to a third-party AI service. We only do this after we have explained what is sent, who receives it, and obtained your permission in the app.

What data is sent

  • Your chat messages and recent conversation history
  • Photos you attach to messages (when you choose to send an image)
  • Context such as your language preference and memories we have stored to personalize replies

Who receives it

This data is sent to Google (Google LLC, through the Gemini API / ai.google.dev), which processes it to generate responses. Google’s use of data is governed by the Gemini API terms and Google’s privacy policy, which we encourage you to review: Google Privacy Policy.

How we collect it and use it

We collect this data when you use the chat (messages and optional images) and when you complete onboarding. We use it solely to power Elena’s AI features, personalize your experience, and improve our service. We do not sell your data. Google provides the same or equal protection for the data it processes on our behalf as described in its policies.
